Raising Awareness and Funds to Support Research at the Kellogg Eye Center

History of March Madness Against Blindness

Myron and the gang enjoying March Madness at Damon's!For many years, Myron gathered with close friends to watch the first round of the NCAA tournament. He always said it was "the greatest two days of sports of the year!" One year between games, while reminiscing about past tournaments and reflecting on how long the friends had been doing this, Myron hatched the idea this could be something used to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Thus, the idea for March Madness Against Blindness was born!

2007 was the inaugural March Madness Against Blindness event and it was an incredible success! Over 100 individuals and organizations contributed to the cause, and even more came out to Damon's to join in the festivities. In all, $6,000 was raised to support research at the Kellogg Eye Center! Media coverage included on air interviews on WAAM 1600 AM and WKQL 107.1 FM, articles in the Ann Arbor News and The University Record, and WWJ.com posted a link to the event webpage. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better!
