History of March Madness Against Blindness

For many years, Myron gathered with close friends to watch the first round of the NCAA tournament. He always said it was "the greatest two days of sports of the year!" One year between games, while reminiscing about past tournaments and reflecting on how long the friends had been doing this, Myron hatched the idea this could be something used to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Thus, the idea for March Madness Against Blindness was born!

2010 will be the 4th annual March Madness Against Blindness event. Hundreds of people and many organizations have contributed to the cause, and thanks to all their great generosity, assistance, and participation, over $16,000 has been raised so far to support research into the prevention and treatment of blinding conditions!!

Media coverage over the years included on air interviews on WKQL 107.1 FM, WLBY 1290 AM, WWJ 950 AM, and WAAM 1600 AM. Articles have been written in the Ann Arbor News, The University Record, Michigan Today, and the Michigan Daily. Myron and the gang enjoying March Madness at Damon's!

This year's event promises to be even bigger and better! Be sure to check out the great prizes this year, donate on-line, and come out to Damon's in Ann Arbor for March Madness Against Blindness!!
